| | | Culinary Festival in Vladivostok The fourth Culinary festival is the annual event for the hospitality industry professional brought together 10,000 experts from all corners of the Russian Far East. New Consul General Tom Armbuster greeted the participants and organizers on the opening ceremony, gave the interview to TVS and had meeting with the reps of American companies visited Culinary Festival in Vladivostok. US Agricultural Trade Office traditionally participated in the Culinary Festival. More than 350 attendees visited ATO Informational booth. US poultry, California almonds, US peas, American pork recipe books were of great success and now ATO office almost empty. But the main hit was the American products list, generic list of the foodservice products from US available in Vladivostok, and their suppliers’ contacts. I am glad to report that of 26 new foodservice products from US arrived to Vladivostok just before the festival and ATO included 5 new sauces, caned vegetable, caned fruits, even 5 types of pasta for Italian cuisine.
Master classes attracted even more attention to the ATO booth and American products.Generic master class devoted to poultry, California almond and potatoes Lamb Weston and US pork class funded by US Meat Export Federation attracted over 130 people and were recognized as on of the most popular event on the festival. Sergey Klimenko, the famous chef in Vladivostok conducting weekly Culinary TV program managed to demonstrate 4 courses during each master class and turned the classes into the real show where the main achievement were questions and active participation of the audience.
