New U.S. Food Television Program Opens

In January and February 2007, the ATO in collaboration with Domashniy Television Network and American trade associations, including the U.S. Poultry and Egg Export Council, Distilled Spirits Council U.S., the Southern United States Trade Association and Jackson Wine Estates, executed a unique television project, which will result in 14 television shows that will run in the spring on Domashniy TV starting March 10. The programs will be viewed by about 10 million people nationwide and in the Commonwealth states. This activity was developed through USDA's MAP Global Based Initiative, Russian language U.S. food safety and health project and the Emerging Markets Program.

The shows are airing currently in Russia and are so popular Domashniy channel is repeating them. A second trip to the United States for Domashniy is in the works to visit Virginia, Colorado, and the Pacific Northwest. Write ATO Marketing Specialist Daniil Schultz for more information.
